San Diego, CA - Madison Gallery proudly announces A Decade of Wonder, the 10th solo exhibition by acclaimed American artist Hunt Slonem, marking over two decades of collaboration with Gallerist, Lorna York. This milestone exhibition brings together a dynamic selection of new works that continue Slonem’s signature exploration of repetition, color, and spiritual symbolism through iconic imagery — from tropical birds and butterflies to his beloved bunnies.
Internationally celebrated and widely collected, Slonem’s work belongs in more than 250 permanent collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Whitney Museum, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and Würth Museum. His collectors span heads of state to Hollywood luminaries — from U.S. Presidents to Sharon Stone, Brooke Shields, Kylie Jenner, and Jennifer Lopez.
Rooted in a personal practice of visual mantras, Slonem’s paintings pulse with energy, layering vibrant brushstrokes across canvases framed in antique gold. His works transcend whimsy, channeling a reverence for the natural world and the mystical rhythms of daily ritual. As former Met curator Henry Geldzahler noted, “Slonem creates beautiful work that continually gives joy and surprise.”
This exhibition is both a celebration and a continuation — of an artist whose imagery is etched into the fabric of American art, and a gallery that has championed his evolving vision for over twenty years.
